About Our Fashion Camp
The internationally recognized fashion production company Harlem Fashion Week presents an opportunity for young people to receive training and development at HFW Kids Fashion Academy located at the Museum of the City of NY.
HFW: Fashion and Arts summer camp will provide our students with the opportunity to learn about the fashion industry through project based learning. With a culturally rich curriculum and expert instructors our students will have the foundation to develop a career in the fashion industry, while having state of the art experiences.

Our Summer Camp is S.T.E.A.M. aligned! Students will enroll in courses like Fashion Design and Sewing, Modeling & Make Up with a special class for BOYS: Mentoring through Modeling. Our program will also provide Academic Support! Students will be given hands-on activities and projects to complete and present their finished work; which can be used to build fashion and art portfolios. Students will also take Fashion Tours across NYC.

The Founders of HFW: Fashion Arts Academy are the internationally award winning powerhouse mother-daughter team Tandra Birkett and Yvonne Jewnell, owners of the fashion design company Yvonne Jewnell New York LLC and the creators of Harlem Fashion Week, one of the most influential New York Fashion Week organizations.
Yvonne and Tandra are both educators and fashion industry leaders, with a collective experience of 25 years. Yvonne Jewnell is a graduate of Parsons The New School. Tandra Birkett is a graduate of Columbia University, Teachers College.
Tandra & Yvonne have received awards from the The National Council of Negro Women, The Fashion 500, The Council of the City of New York, New York State Assembly, New York State Senate and “Women in the Black”. Harlem Fashion Week has been fortunate to receive a wide diversity of press from over 100 major media publications: Vogue Italia, Ozy.com, Racked.com, The New Yorker Magazine, Paper Magazine, The Root.com, Refinery 29, Essence, Fashion Week Online, Getty Images including the book Race Capital?: Harlem as Setting and Symbol, among many other publications. ​​​​​​​
